Review:

" Ashes and Diamonds make a promising entry into the London theatre scene...trac(ing) the faultlines of sex and power both in the theatre of war and the conflict within us...as Holofernes Jackson Wright affectingly portrays weakness and cunning "

" Firstly Remember ; We create ourselves, we do not come made...."

The first production from ashes and diamonds was Howard Barkers short and punchy adaptation  of the  (apocryphal) biblical book of Judith . On the eve of a genocide Judith arrives at the tent of the General Holofernes
who opposes her people planning to seduce and assassinate him, only to discover that he has already guessed her plan, wants her to succeed and is determined to make her task more difficult than she could ever imagine....
